Margaret Louise Schnorr-Backus, age 63, of 2205 13th St., Two Rivers, died peacefully, at home, on December 13, 2011, following a competitive battle with cancer.
Louise was born October 2, 1948, in Joplin, Missouri, a daughter of the late George and Beuhal (Fox) Schnorr. She graduated from Mishicot High School with the class of 1966. On May 14, 1982, she married Joseph Backus in Manitowoc. Louise was an avid painter and was a longtime member of Lakeshore Palletiers. Louise and Joe shared their passion for cars.
Survivors include her husband: Joe Backus, Two Rivers; several brothers and sisters-in-law; her mother-in-law: Joette Backus; cousins and many special friends. In addition to her parents, Louise was preceded in death by an infant daughter.
A memorial service will be at 6:45 p.m. Sunday, December 18, 2011 at Deja & Martin Funeral Chapels, 1506 18th St., Two Rivers. Mark LeGreve will conduct the service with burial of her cremated remains to be held at a later date in Holy Cross Cemetery, Two Rivers.
Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Sunday evening from 4:00 p.m. until the time of service at 6:45 p.m.
Joe extends a special thank you to Dr. Benhan, Dr. Gahl, the staff at Heartland Hospice, and Karen Hauke R.N. for the compassion and care given to Louise.
