George Andrew Ivy, Jr. of Kingsland, Texas passed away on Monday, July 28, 2014 at the age of 73.

He was born on June 3, 1941 to George Andrew and Leora (Worthington) Ivy, in Lometa, Texas.

He married Debbie Horton on August 16 of 1997 in Kingsland, Texas. George served in the US Army from 1961 to 1967.

He was a resident of Kingsland most of his life, coming from Lometa, Lampasas and Ft. Worth.

George was a member of the National Rifle Association and A former member of the American Legion of Kingsland.

He is preceded in death by his parents, five sisters Lela, Betty, Nell, Wanda and Joann, four brothers Andrew, Frank, Jimmy and Jerry.

Survivors include wife Debbie Horton Ivy from Kingsland, daughters Angie Ivy from Carrollton, Texas, Georgia Ivy from Burnet and Carla Ivy from Austin. Brother Charles Ivy and wife Elleye of Lampasas, sister Linda Jones of Deer River, Minnesota. Grandchildren Sophia Randall and Ethan Randall. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation will at Waldrope-Hatfield-Hawthorne Funeral Chapel in Kingsland, Texas. A graveside service will be held at the Center Cemetery in Lometa, Texas with Rev. Mike East Officiating.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the American Cancer Association.
