Genevie (Jenny) Pearl Hemming Puckett of Pocatello, Idaho, passed away peacefully in her sleep on July 28, 2014 due to complications suffered after a recent heart attack.
Born February 9, 1927 in Pocatello, Idaho to Genevie and Parley Hemming, Jenny graduated from Pocatello High School in 1945 where she active in social activities and part-time work. She attended Idaho State College where she was a member of Gamma Delta Gamma.
The often opinionated Jenny met her match in a soft-spoken U.S. Navy sailor, Edwin (Dale) Puckett. The two were married in 1949 in the Idaho Falls, Idaho Temple after Dale finished serving his country overseas.
Jenny was talented with crochet and crewel work, loved crossword puzzles, enjoyed taking pictures of nature, and was also an avid reader of romance novels. She collected ceramic dolls for many years and loved watching baseball and Westerns.
Jenny is survived by her four children: Michael (Janie) of Hastings, Minnesota, Catherine (Dale) Thompson of South Jordan, Utah, and Louis and Richard of Pocatello, Idaho. She is also survived by nine grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. Jenny is preceded in death by her husband, Dale.
A graveside service will be held at 12:00 p.m. Saturday, August 2, at Mountain View Cemetery, 1520 S 5th Avenue Grave Site 6 West- Row 24 Space 2, Pocatello, Idaho. Viewing before the interment will be at Mountain View Cemetery from 11:00 - 12:00.
