JANICE A. WALLACE
Janice A. Wallace, 93, of Wheaton, IL formerly of Casey died on Monday July 22, 2013 at the home of her son in Glenn Ellyn. She was born November 7, 1919 in Cumberland County to “Tell and Pearl Hurt.
She leaves son Jon Wallace (Pat), two grandchildren, Matt Wallace (Holly) and Kathleen Wallace, one great grand-daughter, Payton Wallace and her brother Phillip Hurt.
Preceding her were her parents, brother, Earl Hurt, sisters; Zola Delp and Doris Sweet all of Casey.
Jan was one of the first to join the W.A.V.E.S. during WWII. She was discharged in Hawaii and made Hawaii her home for many years. When she came back to the states she continued with teaching and counseling.
A memorial is planned later at Casey Cumberland Cemetery.
