Born in Lincoln Township, Hamilton County, near the town of Radcliffe, Iowa, the 4th child and 1st son among his parent's 8 children. Served in World War II and during its aftermath at Fort Hood, Texas, and Tokyo, Japan. (May 7, 1945-December 31, 1946, according to my sources.) Married Alice Ruth Hovda, October 1, 1945, at the Methodist Church in Jewell, Iowa. I met them both of them, as well as some of Leo's siblings, on several occasions. He was my maternal grandmother's first cousin. He died at Bethany Manor in Story City, Iowa. I delayed adding his entry until after Alice's death out of respect for Alice and his remaining sisters. I have linked him to his family as needed.
