Arvona Costella Walker, the daughter of the late Archie Arvel and Gladys Cooper Warren, was born in Stoddard County of Missouri on May 3, 1937 and passed away at her home near Salem, Mo. on May 30, 2002, at the age of 65. Mrs. Walker had lived in Dexter until 1987 and then moved to Salem and lived until her death. She was a seamstress for Elder Manufacturing Company and later at Hagle Garment Manufacture in Salem, where she retired. She enjoyed flea markets and was a gifted crafter and writer. Arvona loved her family and was a true Child of God. She was united in marriage to Richard Walker on Feb. 13, 1954 at Holly Springs, Miss. and he survives of the home in Salem. Besides her husband, she is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Arlen and Tammy Walker of Salem, Mo.; by three sisters, Shirley Warren of Granite City, Ill., Lovetta Cookson of Dexter, Mo. and Margie Sadler and husband, Don, of Bloomfield, Mo.; by three brothers, Kent Warren and wife, Judy, of Madison, Ill., Butch Warren and wife, Marcia, of Granite City, Ill. and Wayne Warren and wife, Ruth, of Salem; and by two granddaughters, Leeya and Haley Walker of Salem, Mo. Other relatives and many friends also survive. Besides her parents, Mrs. Walker was preceded in death by one infant sister and one younger sister, Kay Nevels.
