Word was received here of the death of Alvin Brotherton, 81, a former Colby and Neillsville resident, who died March 8, 1968 at the home of a son, George, in Texas.
Funeral services were held at the Georgas Funeral Home at Neillsville (Clark Co., Wis.), Tuesday, March 12. Murray Keene and Kenneth Blakeman were in charge. Mrs. Harold Brockhaus was the organist and accompanist for Mrs. Norma Wepfer, Myron Wepfer and Gayle Motley, who sang. The pallbearers for the interment made in the Neillsville Cemetery were Harold Brockhaus of Colby, Arvid and Lawrence Carlson of Abbotsford, William Lelosse and Donald Bertholdt of Greenwood, and Robert Beyers of Neillsville.

Mr. Brotherton was born May 9, 1896, at Baraboo. He was married to Edna Rosin. They farmed east of Colby until about 30 years ago, when they moved to a farm near Neillsville, and later moved into Neillsville.

Survivors include two sons, George in Texas and Lloyd of Argentina, South America; a daughter, Gwendolyn, Owen; a brother, Richard Brotherton, Manitowoc, and several nieces and nephews.
