Mrs. Louise Ruddock, a resident of Neillsville for more than half a century, passed away at her home on State Street Tuesday afternoon May 2.

She had not been in good health for some time, but had been able to be about until a week before her death, when a heart attack confined her to the bed.

Louise Chase was born in the town of Seneca, Green Lake County, Wis., July 25, 1862, and grew to womanhood there.

In 1879 she was married to Lyman Ruddock at Berlin, Wis., Fifty-one years ago they came to Neillsville where Mr. Ruddock had established himself as a blacksmith, and this has remained her home ever since. Mr. Ruddock died 10 years ago.

Mrs. Ruddock's life has been a way, apparently quite uneventful-- quietly she has gone on looking after her home and family needs and in the same manner has in many different ways ministered the welfare of friends and neighbors. As a member of the Royal Neighbors she won a wide circle of admiring friends, and among her near neighbors she was most dearly loved. Her death comes as a most sad bereavement to her daughter Maude who since childhood has been her constant companion in the home. One son Frank lives in Neillsville. She leaves also three grandchildren and several brothers and sisters.

The funeral will be held at 2:30 p.m. Thursday at the home, Rev. G. W. Longenecker officiating.
