Hubert Hill a young man of perhaps 21 years was killed in the Bellewood mine on Meadow Creek last Friday and Clark Ripley formerly from Alderson sustained a broken leg by the fall of slate.
Ripley and Hill were working together when the accident happened. The remains of Hill were taken to Alderson for burial.
He had been working in the mine a few days.
