"Betty Rose Ruterman was born on April 23, 1929 and passed away on May 8, 2009. Betty was born in Cortez, Colorado the daughter and only child of William A. Ogle and Anna B. (Morelock) Ogle. She grew up in Durango, Colorado where she graduated from high school in May of 1947.
After moving to Albuquerque, New Mexico she met and married Charles William Dunagan on November 20, 1948. They soon after, moved to Douglas where she has lived ever since. They had two children a son Michael B. and a daughter Wanda Charlene (deceased 1970).
She later divorced and remarried Joseph A. Ruterman on August 4, 1978. They were married for 22 years.
While living in Douglas, she was a parent and housewife, an active member in the Democratic Party and worked in various city offices including the Douglas Public Library, Douglas Planning and Zoning Department, and with the Douglas Police Department in the detective section.
Surviving is her son Michael B. Dunagan, his wife Francis and a granddaughter Maria. Betty enjoyed many different kinds of crafts, working in her yard, and above all, her companion and shadow, a little Peke-A-Poo dog named Nikki.
A memorial service will be held on May 23, 2009-10:00 a.m. in the main chapel of Adair Douglas Funeral Chapel, inurnment will follow at Julia Page Memorial Park."
