Charity Fundraiser. Stephen Sutton was a normal teenage boy until he was diagnosed with cancer at the age of 15. He then decided to raise money for the Teenage Cancer Trust, staging various fund raising events and created his own 'bucket list' of things he wanted to do before he died.

He had raised thousands of pounds for TCT before his condition worsened and in April 2014, he posted what he thought would be his final photo from his hospital bed, giving his characteristic 'thumbs up' sign. His campaign was then picked up by the media and shared around the world; many famous names lent their support to the cause, and he inspired thousands of people with his positive attitude. Donations poured in and very quickly he raised his first million pounds (his initial target being 10 thousand pounds).

He was briefly discharged from hospital but sadly his condition deteriorated and he was readmitted - by the time of his death at Birmingham's Queen Elizabeth Hospital the total raised was over 3 million pounds. Today it stands at 4.3 million pounds. He was awarded the MBE (Member of the Order of the British Empire) medal shortly before his death.

His positivity in the face of terminal illness inspired millions of people worldwide, and his funeral at Lichfield Cathedral was attended by thousands of members of the public.

He most famously said 'I don't see the point in measuring life in terms of time any more. I'd rather measure life in terms of making a difference.'
