Adelard J. "Addy" Richard 80, of Lunenburg, died Sunday, September 14, 2014 in Sterling Village Nursing Home, Sterling. He was born on December 16, 1933, in Acadieville, New Brunswick, Canada, was the son of Edmond and Josephine (Chevarie) Richard.

He worked as a supervisor for 30 years at Mohawk Wire and Cable in Leominster and then he worked for 5 years at Data Guide in Gardner, before retiring. He was a member of St. Cecilia Parish in Leominster.

He is survived by his wife of 56 years Jeanne E. (Daigle) Richard of Lunenburg, two sons Donald Richard of Gardner, and David Richard and his wife Monica of Lunenburg, two daughters Rita Cannon and her husband Robert of Orange, and Annette Bergeron and her husband Richard of Leominster, two grandchildren Nicholas and Lindsey Bergeron, six sisters Bertha and her late husband Medard Richard of St. Antoine, New Brunswick, Canada, Gemma and her late husband Eymard Cormier of Bouctouche, New Brunswick, Canada, Anna and her husband Leandre Cormier of Gardner, Germaine and her late husband Joseph Daigle of Acadieville, New Brunswick, Canada, Florine and her late husband Gaston Richard of Gardner, Marie and her husband Yvon LeBlanc of Templeton.

He was predeceased by two brothers Nazaire Richard of Gardner, and Irenee Richard of Richiboucto, and three sisters Therese Richard of Collette, New Brunswick, Eliza Babineau of Richiboucto Village, and Eva Richard who died in 1946.

Funeral Information

Adelard's funeral will be held from the Wright-Roy Funeral Home 109 West St. Leominster, on Friday, September 19, 2014, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. in St. Cecilia Church, 168 Mechanic St. Leominster, Burial will follow in St. Cecilia Cemetery, Leominster. Calling hours will be Thursday, September 18, 2014, from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm in the funeral home.
