Evelyn M. Schaben, 83, of Aurora, IL, passed away Wednesday, February 15, 2006 at Provena Mercy Medical Center. She was born January 20, 1923 in Big Rock, Illinois the daughter of William and Clare (Strotz) Murphy. She was united in marriage to Herbert Leroy Tschannen in 1942 and to this union four children were born. Evelyn was a kind and caring person who loved her family. In 1968 she then married Clifford Schaben in Nevada. She loved to travel, going all over the United States in their motor home. However, she was always happiest coming home to her family. She had an uncanny sense of humor and always looked for the good in everyone. She was loved by her family and the many friends she made at work and in her travels. She was a RN, a truly giving person. She retired from Heartland Blood Bank 19 years ago. She also had a love of animals, especially her Siamese kitty, Myling. She was so active until she was struck with Parkinson's. She was still doing hand springs and the splits when she was in her 50's. Her faith in God was strong. She will be missed by family and friends for a long time, she has a special place in many hearts. She is survived by her husband, her children, Steven (Karla) Tschannen of Somonauk, IL. Her grandchildren, Steven (Eugenia) Tschannen, Jr. of Somonauk, IL, Michelle (Thomas) Lawson of Leland, IL, and great-grandchildren, Alexander and Steven Lawson both of Leland, IL. Her two brothers, Daniel Murphy of Theodore, AL and Dr. Edward (Martha) Murphy of Lewistown, IL; her brother-in-law, Harry Johnson of Nuevo, CA, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Clara (Strotz) and William Murphy; her sister, Virginia Johnson; and her sister-in-law, Martha Murphy.
