Goldie was born April 10, 1922 at Egnar CO, to Jackson Monroe and Francis Elizabeth (Strother) McNeely. She passed away at Vista Grande Nursing Home on Friday November 11, 2005 at the age of 83.
March 31, 1941, in Aztec NM, Goldie wed Donald Rose. The couple shared 62 years of marriage before Donald's death in February 2004.
Goldie was devoted to her family, enjoying her time spent as a mother and grandmother. She enjoyed opening her home to her nephew, Dennis Knuckles, raising him after the death of his mother. Goldie had attended school only through the eighth grade, and at age of 56 Goldie recieved her GED. She loved to read, crochet, camp and fish. She was a longtime member of the Dove Creek Southern Baptist Church.
Surviving Goldie are her three daughters, Donna Mae Sellard of Los Angeles CA., Linda Sue (Larry) Perkins of Ignacio CO., and Diane Lynn (Donald)Shutt of Yellow Jacket CO; six grand- children, four great-grandchildren; special nephew Dennid Knuckles and her special niece, Vivian (Brackett) Brewer, and many other extended family members.
Preceding Goldie in death were her husband, Donald; her son Frankie Duane Rose, and s son-in-law, Lonnie Sellard. Preceded also by sisters and brother, Mary McNeely, Gracie Mae (McNeely)Knuckles, and James Earl McNeely. Half brothers and sisters; Jasper William McNeely, Lula (McNeely) Brackett, Jessie Monrow McNeely, John McNeely and Lonnie McNeely.
Services were conducted by Ertel Funeral Home.
