Married Lillie Bell Yancy in 1913. Divorced. They had one son named Ralph J. Stone. Remarried to Moretta Bagley. They had 4 children. Moretta died in 1936. He then married Verrell Smith.

He was in the Company H Wyoming National Guard. He had many talents and skills such as writing poetry. He was a lawyer, painter, Sheriff, and even owened a coal mine.

At the time of his death he was survived by his wife Verrell, 4 sons, 1 daughter, 2 step-daughters, 27 grand-children and 21 great grand-children.
