Mrs. Ruby O. Connell, born in Alabama on May 30, 1927, of Harpersville, passed away Feb. 27, 2009, at the age of 81. Mrs. Connell was a loving wife, mother, sister and friend that will be greatly missed.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Jim and Sara Lovett; husband, James Odis Connell; daughter, Jackie Sue Cleckler; brother, Dolphus Lovett; and sisters, Ida Godthard, Carrie Godthard, Carey Smith, and Lillian Peters.

Mrs. Connell is survived by her devoted sons, Mitchell Connell (Rebekah) and Michael Connell (Karen); and sister, Jewell Avery; seven grandchildren, numerous great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.

Visitation was held at Charter Funeral Home Monday, March 2, 2009, starting at 11 a.m. Funeral Services were held at Charter Funeral Home Monday at 1 p.m. Officiating ministers were, Pastor Mitch Connell, Pastor Hank Station and Pastor Maneon Brasher. Soloist was Rebekah Connell.

Burial was in City Memorial Cemetery in Thorsby, Ala.
