James Simonds Millidge was the son of Thomas MILLIDGE, Jr. and the grandson of Thomas MILLIDGE and Mercy BARKER. Thomas, Sr., and Thomas, Jr., Loyalists, were born in Hanover, New Jersey. James Simonds Millidge also was the son of Sarah SIMONDS and the grandson of James Simonds, a pre-Loyalist English trader in Saint John. According to the on-line Millidge Family Chronicles, James Simonds MILLIDGE was born January 14, 1817 in Saint John, New Brunswick. The Millidge Family History by M. E. Millidge appears to agree with the headstone. The headstone is very difficult to read. It reads, as follows, SACRED the Memory of JAMES SIMONDS MILLIDGE Youngest son of THOMAS and SARAH MILLIDGE.... According to the Millidge Family Chronicles, there was an even younger son, Henry George MILLIDGE, born in 1819?!
