Son of John J. and Margaret Hennessey. He was a veteran of the Civil War serving in the 32nd New York Infantry. He was present at Shiloh, Gettysburg and the Wilderness. Later he became a Captain in the Chicago Fire Depatment.

After his second wife Rebecca died, he married Anna/Anne Hennessy (1862-1948- her maiden name was Hennessy also!) in 1891 Chicago- that is the stone at the bottom of his grave inscribed "Anne".
His daughter by 2nd wife Rebecca Hennessy (her maiden name was Hennessy also!) was Margaret Hennessy Trahey, grave ID 197772428
DOES ANYONE HAVE THE RECORDS OF WHO WAS JOHN J HENNESSY'S parents or his CIVIL WAR record info, please? I cant seem to find it..
