Died.-At his residence in Gonzales, on Friday, May 15, 1885, at 12:30 a.m.
Mr. Smith was one of the oldest and most respected citizens of our county, and his death was a cause of deep regret to all. we had not heard of his sickness, and the news of his sudden death was a surprise to s. He was buried at the Odd Fellows cemetery yesterday evening at 3 o'clock, and his funeral was well attended. Our sympathies and those of the whole community go out to the bereaved family.
