Billy Robert Wallace, 85
Billy Robert (Bill) Wallace, 85, passed away Thursday, July 31 in Montgomery, Alabama. Bill was born October 7, 1928, the youngest of eleven children. He met his wife, Naomi Moore, when they both worked at the Empire movie theater.
Bill began a long career as warehouse manager. He worked in the same position for over 50 years, as the company name changed around him, and retired from Hodges Warehouse. He served the Church of Christ as a deacon at Druid Hills, and later at Vaughn Park, and was a founding member of both churches. Bill was always a soft-spoken example of a Godly life.
He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Naomi; daughters Linda McRay, Karen (Rick) Popwell, Nancy (Steven) Rambo, Amy (Charles) Hightower, Ann (Stan) Bragg; 14 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation and Services will take place at Vaughn Park Church of Christ. Visitation will be Saturday, August 2nd from 4:00 until 6:00 pm and Sunday, August 3, from 1:00 until 2:00 pm with funeral services immediately following. Burial will follow at Greenwood Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Agape or The Family Care Fund at Vaughn Park. Leak Memory Chapel directing
