Marvin Wayne Jackson, 83 of Prineville, passed away Aug. 3, 2011. There will be a private memorial service that only family will attend.
Marvin was born Dec. 11, 1927 in Florence, Ore. to Vernon Marvin and Edith Lamara (Olsdorfs) Jackson. He served as a Navy Gunners Mate 3C during World War II. He married Enola Hohnstein on April 22, 1950 and the couple was together for 63 years. Marvin owned and operated the Prineville Disposal Service as well as the Tastee Treat numerous years ago. He also lived and worked on his beloved farm.
Marvin's hobbies included gardening, hunting, fishing in Alaska with his son. He loved animals and working on his farm.
Marvin is survived by his companion Enola Jackson of Prineville; daughter Darla (Jackson) Kinsella of Prineville; son Wayne Jackson of Kenai, Alaska; mother Edith (Jackson) Ferns of Prineville; sister Arlene Riggs of Idaho; stepbrother Mike Ferns of Bend, Ore.; grandchildren Patsy Caraway, Kyle Staton, Todd Jackson, Jeff Jackson, Robbie Jackson, and Randy Jackson as well as 3 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his father Vernon Jackson, his brother Vernon "Bud" Jackson and his Grandparents.
