Elizabeth J. Stanton, age 53, of 211 Pearl Ave., Shawano, died in a Milwaukee hospital. The daughter of Eulalia (Landgraf) and the late Dr. James H. Murphy was born October 1933, at Clintonville.
She married Kenneth Stanton October 29, 1953, in Milwaukee. He preceded her in death November 13, 1978. The couple had lived in the Milwaukee area for several years, moving to Shawano in 1964. Mrs. Stanton had worked in the Deli at T&C Supermarket for the past eight years.
She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and the Christian Mothers.
Survivors include three daughters, Kathy (Robert) Broder of Shawano, Mary (Scott) Schuelke of Milwaukee, and Sue (Charles) Tincher of Milwaukee; four sons, Mike (Patty) of Milwaukee, Tim (Brenda) of Platteville, Brian and Kevin at home; six grandchildren; her mother Mrs. J. H. Murphy of Shawano; two sisters, Mary (Harold) Irish of Rt. 1, Shawano, and Margaret (Robert) Trainor of Dwight, Ill.; and two brothers, John (Marie) Murphy of Valders, and Gerald (Carolyn) Murphy of Port Washington. She was also preceded in death by two brothers.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, September 2, at 10:30 a.m. at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church with the Rev. Gary J. Dantinne officiating. Burial will be in the parish cemetery.
Friends may call at the Born-Swedberg Funeral Home, Shawano, from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday and after 8 a.m. Wednesday. There will be a parish wake service at 7 p.m. Tuesday.
