Judith A. Steffen, age 71, of 2000 Kellner Street, Manitowoc, died Wednesday, August 6, 2014 at Holy Family Memorial Medical Center, Manitowoc.
The former Judith A. Raih was born on October 5, 1942 in Manitowoc, daughter of Erna (Ludwig) Raih and the late Bill Raih. She grew up and attended schools in Manitowoc, and graduated with the class of 1961 from Manitowoc Lincoln High School. On May 1, 1965 Judith married Thomas F. Steffen Sr. in Manitowoc. He preceded her in death on July 15, 2000. She worked as CNA for many years until her retirement. She was a lifelong member of First Reformed United Church of Christ, Snip & Sew and Women's Guild
Survivors include one son: Thomas F. Steffen, Jr., Manitowoc; one grandson: Kevin Sweetman, Reedsville; her mother: Erna Raih, Manitowoc; one brother-in-law and one sister-in-law, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends also survive. She was preceded in death by her father: Bill Raih; her husband: Thomas F. Steffen, Sr.; one daughter: Candice Steffen; one brother: Roger Raih.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, August 13, 2014 at First Reformed United Church of Christ, 3613 Waldo Boulevard, Manitowoc. The Rev. Richard Runge will officiate with burial to follow at Evergreen Cemetery. Relatives and friends may call at the church on Wednesday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service at 11:00 a.m. The Jens Family Funeral Home & Crematory of Manitowoc is assisting the family with funeral arrangements.
