We have lost a kind and gentle man known to many in Klamath Falls with the passing of Wesley E. Anderson Dec. 10, 2013.
Wesley was born in Nebraska to Eric and Frances Anderson Jan. 18, 1931.
He came to Klamath Falls in the 1970s and remained here throughout his life. We knew Wesley as one half of a constant pair two men who helped take care of our town by picking up trash on our downtown sidewalks and streets for many years. Wesley and his best friend Leo Mursu were honored by the city for their efforts to make our town tidier, and were given keys to a dumpster to put the garbage into. Leo preceded Wesley into heaven when he passed away March 3, 2013.
These men gave joy to all who knew them, from the restaurant workers who served them on a daily basis while another good cup of coffee was being enjoyed, to the Special Olympics coaches and teammates they proudly bowled with and staff fortunate enough to have worked with, the men at MENTOR and REACH over many years. What we learned from Wesley and his best friend Leo was what true friendship really looks like. We knew when we were with them, we would never hear an unkind word spoken and we were in the presence of men who were truly content.
