"MRS. BARNES DIES AT DAUGHTER'S HOME
"Mrs. Frances Emma Barnes, widow of Charles M. Barnes, died at 5:30 AM today at the home of her son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Earl L. Hayes at 146 Franklin Street. Death was due to a complication of diseases and followed an illness of six years.

"Mrs. Barnes was born in Shelby County on April 22, 1858, the daughter of John and Senna (sic) (Palmeron) (sic) Arnold. She was eighty-four years of age. She had been a resident of Shelby County all her life and was a member of the First Methodist Church of this city. Mr. Barnes died a number of years ago.

"Surviving with the daughter at whose home she died are another daughter and a son, Mrs. Carl Jose, of this city and Frank A. Barnes of Aurora; nine grandchildren and a nephew and a cousin.

"Funeral services will be held at the Ewing Mortuary Sunday at 1:30 PM. Burial will be in the Vienna Cemetery in Rush County. Friends may call at the mortuary from 7:00 o'clock this evening until the hour of the funeral."
