Cathel P. "Smokey" McNaughton, better known as Smokey, passed away on April 29, 2010 in Fortuna surrounded by his family. Smokey is preceded in death by his wife Janet, son Kelly, brothers and sisters Don, George, Jim, Jane, Kate, Ann, and his parents George and Mary. Smokey is survived by his sons, Colin and Kevin (Kathy) his daughters Kim McNaughton and Christie Ammer (Wes), grandchildren; Shaun, Cheyne Gerbatz (Glen), Mary Liz, Colt, Cody, Leslie, Tia, Sayonna, Brooke, Travis, and Trent Ammer as well as his great grandchildren; Tracy, Anthony, and Patrick Mathew (Pama G.). Smokey was a loving father, grandfather and husband. He loved to spend time with his family and always had a new project he was ready to start. Smokey always saw the good in everyone he met. He was a proud man and fought till the very end. Let's remember Smokey with an Irish hat on his head and a smile on his face. Services will be held at 10:00 AM on Tuesday, May 4, 2010 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, 14th and N streets, Fortuna under the direction of Goble's Fortuna Mortuary.
