Jessie May Michael Arnett, 90, went to be with the Lord on Monday, December 14, 2009 in Manatee County, Florida. She was born April 4, 1919, a daughter of the late Herbert R. Michael and Eunice B. Wilson Michael. She is also preceded in death by her husband, Harold C. Arnett, who passed away on October 20, 1975. Jessie had been an active member of the Hagans Christian Church since childhood. She taught Vacation Bible School, Sunday School Class and served as an Elder for many years. She enjoyed bowling with the Senior Citizens for over 30 years. She organized the first Hagans Farm Women's Club over 50 years ago and is now a member of the Flaggy Meadows Club. She has been a continuing member of the Homemakers Club for over 50 years. She was also a member of the Right Hand Stars Square Dance Club for several years. She was known by all as a "Snow Bird" because she lived in Florida six months out of the year for over thirty years and resided in her home in Hagans the other six months. While in Florida, she was active in bowling, shuffling, bicycle riding, square dancing, red hatters, quilting and many other activities. Jessie never met a stranger and had friends all over the United States. She is survived by six daughters Loretta "Joey" Davis, Wanda E. Clark and her husband Dale, Glenda R. Facemire, Bonita K. Miller, Sandra G. Townsend and her husband Kenneth, and Paula S. Moore and her husband Donald; twelve grandchildren Jessica Chivers and her husband Gary, Cindy Bell, T. Dale Clark and his wife Carole, Tammy Pietsch and her husband Al, Arthur Facemire and his wife Jeannie, Annette Holman and her husband Bradley, Annetta Johnson and her husband Randy, Charla Blosser and her husband Ben, Brian Townsend and his wife Cyndi, Kitty Hendricks and her husband Scott, Brenton Moore and his wife Rachel, and Cassie Moore; twenty great grandchildren, including one deceased; ten step great grandchildren and four great great grandchildren. She was one of eleven children and is survived by three sisters, Mavis Fluharty and her husband Fred, Jean Newbraugh and Sarah Boggs and two brothers, Herbert Michael and Delbert Michael and his wife Kitty. In addition to her parents and husband, she is preceded in death by two grandchildren, Harold Facemire and Terry Clark. Friends will be received at the Hagans Christian Church, Hagans Rd, on Thursday, December 17, 2009 from 6-9 PM, on Friday, December 18, 2009 from 11 AM-9PM and on Saturday, December 19, 2009 from 10-11AM. Funeral services will be held in the church on Saturday, December 19, 2009 at 11:00 AM with Pastor Isaac Harmon officiating. Interment will follow at the Arnettsville Cemetery in Arnettsville, WV.
