In 1898 the National Biscuit Company purchased the interests of this firm, and Mayor Anstine was continued in the same capacity until 1914, when the plant was discontinued and the National Biscuit Company moved to New York. Later in the same year, Mayor Anstine and six other local men organized the York Pretzel Bakery, with Mayor Anstine as secretary and later president, and this business was continued for ten years, when it was sold to the National Biscuit Company.
