She was born in Cowley County, Kansas on December 9, 1918 the daughter of Walter and Elizabeth (Haines) Asbury on the family farm about four miles southeast of Winfield, Kansas. She was the last of seven children and was the sole survivor of her siblings.
On July 18, 1954 Marie was united in marriage to Don F. Huntington in Moline, Kansas and inherited his five children.
Marie worked as a switchboard operator for Southwestern Bell.
She was a longtime member of the Moline Baptist Church and developed many friends through the Church and the Moline Senior Center.
Marie is survived by a stepdaughter, Betty Jordan of El Dorado, Kansas; two stepsons, Bob Huntington and his wife Helen of Tulsa, Oklahoma and Edward Huntington and his wife Nancy of Sedgwick, Kansas; 12 grandchildren and numerous great and great great grandchildren, one special grandchild Dana Jordan, who always took time for Grandma.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Don Huntington, one son Donald Asbury, one daughter-in-law Janey Asbury, one grandson Dusty Asbury, two stepdaughters, Donna Kill and Nadine Denton, three stepsons-in-law, Don Kill; Joe Denton and Donald Jordan.
