He loved cards and horse racing. He took his son to Basketball and baseball games. He worked in stationery store for many years, He died on June 15, 1973 and was buried on Father's Day 1973 in Elmont Cemetery.
He is survived by his wife Edith, Daughter Sandy(Charles inserillo) and a Son Herbert (Barbara Shayer) Allen and Granddaughters Diane Allen, Lynda and Deborah Inserillo.He is also survived by one Sister Sadie Allen.
