Lois Audrey Shipman, 96, of Abernathy, passed away Saturday, April 22, 2006 in Lubbock. Lois was born April 1, 1910 in Blueridge, Texas to the late Thomas Jefferson and Essie Butler Pate. She married Furman Shipman in December of 1928. He passed away in March of 1992. Lois was a homemaker who loved cooking and enjoyed gardening. She loved children, especially her grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Abernathy. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; a brother; Lloyd Pate; and a sister, Charlisie Boliver. Those left to mourn her passing include a son, Keith Shipman and wife Barbara of Abernathy, two daughters, Brenda Apperson and husband Fred of Abernathy; and Linda Ballard and husband Bob of New Home; eight grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and 3 great-great-grandchildren. Services will be at 10 a.m. , Tuesday, April 25, 2006 at First Baptist Church of Abernathy with Pastor John Lowrie officiating. Interment will follow in Abernathy Cemetery.
