Walter F. Luchsinger, age 71, formerly of 1323 S. 31st St., Manitowoc, died Friday, July 10, 1992, at the Northridge Care Center. Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Monday, July 13, at the Reinbold Pfeffer Urbanek and Schlei Funeral Home. The Rev. William Zimmer will officiate, with burial to follow at the Knollwood Memorial Gardens. He was born on April 5, 1921, at Whitelaw, Wis., son of the late Walter and Blanche Dufek Luchsinger. He grew up and was educated in Manitowoc, and attended Lincoln High School. He served in the U.S. Army overseas during World War II. He worked for the Manitowoc Engineering Company for most of his life, retiring due to health reasons, in 1970. He married Marian D. Daugs in May 17, 1948, at Manitowoc. She preceded him in death on February 10, 1992. He is a retired member of I.A.M. Local 516, of Manitowoc. Survivors include three sons and two daughters-in-law, David and Linda Luchsinger, Dan and Debbie Luchsinger, and Dale Luchsinger, all of Manitowoc; eight grandchildren, Kim, Heidi, Kelly, Jackie, Kevin, Larry, Waylon, and Eden; two brothers and one sister-in-law, Fred Luchsinger, and Gilbert and Joan Luchsinger, all of Manitowoc; three sisters and one brother-in-law, Dolores Emond of Manitowoc, Blanche and Earl Korte of Manitowoc, and Donna Mae Teteak of Santa Marie, Calif. Also surviving are nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by one brother, Bernard and one sister, Caroline Hynek.
