Christopher "Chris" David Matte, age 41, of 2111 Crystal Springs Road, town of Two Rivers, died on Wednesday night, Feb. 6, 2008, at Holy Family Memorial Medical Center, Manitowoc. Chris was born on June 3, 1966, in Manitowoc, son of Gene Matte and Lucille Charney. He graduated from Washington High School, Two Rivers, class of 1984. Chris served our country in the U.S. Army, where he was stationed in Panama and Germany. He was employed at Lube Devices, Manitowoc, as a tool and dye operator. Chris was an avid hunter. He also was a member of the Westshore Sportsman Club, Two Rivers and the Vikings Bow and Gun Club, Valders. Chris especially enjoyed going to his property up north with his family and friends. (Survivors omitted for privacy.) Chris was preceded in death by his grandparents: Victor & Evelyn Charney and Clarence & Alma Matte. Funeral Services for Chris will be held at 6 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 10, 2008, at the Klein and Stangel Funeral Home. Officiating at the service will be the Pastor Joe Muench, with burial on Monday, Feb. 11, 2008, at Knollwood Cemetery, town of Kossuth. The family will greet relatives and friends from 3 p.m. until the time of service at 6 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 10, 2008, at the funeral home. The Klein and Stangel Funeral Home and Cremation Care Center, Two Rivers, is assisting Chris' family with funeral arrangements. The family wishes to extend a sincere thank you to Dr. Neil Schrader of Ironwood, Mich., and Dr. (private) and the staffs at Holy Family Memorial Medical Center, Manitowoc, and St. Joseph's Hospital, Marshfield, for their care given to Chris.
