Fred H. (Fritz) Meisner, age 74, of 3720 Adams St., Two Rivers, died Monday afternoon, November 10, 1997, at Holy Family Memorial Medical Center, Manitowoc. Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, November 13, 1997, at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, Two Rivers. Rev. Kenneth Dowdy will officiate at the service with burial to take place at Knollwood Memorial Gardens, town of Kossuth. Fred was born January 14, 1923, in Hiles, Wis., son of the late John and Anna Herrmann Meisner. He served with the United States Army during World War II in the European Theatre including France, Germany and Austria, and was a recipient of the Purple Heart. On June 22, 1946, he married Ruth Schlundt in Manitowoc. He was employed at Eggers Plywood for many years retiring in 1983. Fred was a member of the VFW, American Legion and the DAV. He was also a member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church. Survivors include his wife, Ruth Meisner, Two Rivers; one son, Carl Meisner, Colorado Springs, Colo.; one daughter and son-in-law, Marie and Glen Artz, Two Rivers; three grandchildren, Mariah and Rory Fitzpatrick, Jacob Artz; two brothers nad sisters-in-law, John and Bernie Meisner, Manitowoc, Herman and June Meisner, Florida; one sister, Rachel Scheer, Two Rivers; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends also survive. He was preceded in death by four brothers. Friends may call at Klein and Stangel Funeral Home, Two Rivers, on Wednesday evening from 5-8 p.m. and Thursday morning at the church from 10 a.m. until the time of service.
