Vernon (Peanuts) Meissner, age 76, of 7621 CTH B, Two Rivers, died Tuesday afternoon, February 9, 1993, at the Holy Family Memorial Medical Center.

Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at St. Peters Ev. Lutheran Church, Mishicot. The Rev. David Waege will officiate with burial at the Knollwood Memorial Gardens with Military Graveside Rites.

He was born in the Town of Two RIvers on April 9, 1916, son of Roland C. Meissner and the late Viola Schimmel. He was married on June 5, 1948, to Baneatta (Bonnie) Behnke. They lived at their present address, 159, Shoto. He served in the United States army from February 1943 to December of 1945. He was employed by Fred Radandt and Sons as a crane operator for 32 years retiring in 1978. A member of St. Peters Ev. Lutheran Church, Mishicot VFW Post 7753, life member of the Shoto Conservation Club. A retired volunteer fireman for the Town of Two Rivers Operators Engineers Union Local 1939 for 40 years.

Survived by his wife, and his father of Shady Lane, Manitowoc; four brothers and sisters-in-law, Roland and Grace Meissner, Jr., Glen and Margaret Meissner, and Paul and Janice Meissner, all of Rural Two Rivers, Daniel and Rose Meissner, Two Rivers; four sisters and brothers-in-law, Mrs. Eunice Braun and Ione and Anton Kornely, of rural Two Rivers, Shirley and Charles Holly, Sanford, N.C., Donna and Roy Petska, Shoto; two sisters-in-law; Mrs. Elaine Meissner, Largo, Fla., and Mrs. Viola Behnke, Manitowoc. Many nieces, nephews, and friends. Preceded in death by a brother Kenneth.

Friends may call at the Lambert Funeral Home, Mishicot, 4-8 p.m. Thursday and Friday at the church from 10 a.m. until the time of services.
