HARVEY H. MEYER (d. 2003)

Harvey H. Meyer, age 84, a resident of Harmony of Two Rivers, died Monday evening, Feb. 17, 2003, at Aurora Medical Center, Two Rivers.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Feb. 21, 2003, at Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church, Manitowoc. Officiating at the service will be the Rev. Thomas Pankow with burial at Knollwood Memorial Gardens, town of Kossuth.

He was born Aug. 22, 1918, in the town of Two Rivers, son of the late John and Augusta Horstman Meyer. Harvey was a graduate of Washington High School, Two Rivers, class of 1937. On Aug. 9, 1941, he married the former Virginia Sisel at St. John Lutheran Church, Two Rivers.

Harvey was employed at Hamilton Industries of Two Rivers for 27 years until his retirement in 1972. He enjoyed playing baseball for Two Rivers Merchants from 1934 to1941. Harvey was a trustee for St. John Lutheran Church, Two Rivers, and a member of the Lakeshore Peddlers. Earlier in his retirement he was an avid bike rider, often riding in marathons for charities.

Survivors include his wife: Virginia Meyer, Manitowoc; three sons and daughters-in-law: Keith and Sharon Meyer, Branch; Kent and Kay Meyer, Elkhorn, Wis.; Dean and Sue Meyer, Maribel; a daughter and son-in-law: Dawn and Albert Fail, Idaho Falls, Idaho; four grandchildren: Lance (Carrie) Meyer, Melissa (Mathew) Staude, Brad Meyer, Kristal Meyer; two stepgrandchildren: Mike and Terry Fail; a brother and sister-in-law: Roland and Ruth Meyer, Two Rivers; and a sister-in-law and brother-in-law: LaVerne and Harlan Bohne. Also surviving are nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

The family will greet relatives and friends at The Pfeffer Funeral Home & Cremation Care Center, Manitowoc, on Thursday from 5 to 8 p.m. and at Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church, Manitowoc, on Friday from 10 a.m. until the time of service at 11 a.m.

Memorials would be appreciated to Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church or Manitowoc Lutheran High School.
