Scott L. Mrotek, age 60, of 915 St. Clair St., Manitowoc, died Thursday morning, March 7, 2002, at Holy Family Memorial Medical Center, Manitowoc, surrounded by his family.

Funeral services will be held at noon Saturday, March 9, 2002, at The Pfeffer FUenral Home, Manitowoc. Officiating at the service will be Deacon Robert Drobka with burial at Knollwood Memorial Gardens, town of Kossuth.

He was born Aug. 12, 1941, in Manitowoc, son of the late Margaret Salta. On Aug. 27, 1960, he married the former Mary Sprang at St. Boniface Catholic Church, Manitowoc. Scott worked in construction most of his life and retired from Kelvinator Commercial Products in 1985.

Survivors include his wife, Mary Mrotek, Manitowoc; a daughter, Cathy Mrotek, Two Rivers; two sons and three daughters-in-law: Joe and Trisha Mrotek, Ron and Jeannie Mrotek, Heidi Dehne and her husband, Chuck, all of Manitowoc; a special family friend, Terri Risch, Two Rivers; five grandchildren; Hailey Mrotek, Kayla Pleuss, Courtney Mrotek, Breenan Mrotek, Cassidy Mrotek; a sister and brother-in-law: Sandra and Roger Buechner, Manitowoc; three brothers-in-law: Donald (Donna) Sprang, Robert (Sandy) Sprang, Francis (Marie) Sprang, all of Manitowoc; three sisters-in-law: Carolyn (John) Orth, Arizona; Joanne (Ronald) Popp, Arizona; and Ann (Jeff) Keil, Manitowoc. Also surviving are nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was also preceded in death by a son, Rich Mrotek; his mother-in-law and father-in-law: Katherine and Joseph Sprang and his grandmother, Frances Prue.

The family will greet relatives and friends at The Pfeffer Funeral Home & Cremation Care Center, Manitowoc, from 9 a.m. Saturday until the time of service at noon.

Scott enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, his dogs and working outside. He will be sadly missed by all who knew him.

The family would like to thank Dr. Peter Fergus, the staff of Holy Family Memorial Medical Center and St. Mary’s Hospital, Green Bay, for the compassionate care and support given to Scott and his family.
