Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Rockwood Evangelical Lutheran Church, the Rev. Theodore Sauer officiating, burial will be in Knollwood Memorial Gardens, Town of Kossuth.
Mr. Popelars was born May 17, 1929, in the Town of Kossuth, son of Emil and Ella Peroutka Popelars. He attended Elm View Grade School and was graduated in 1946 from Mishicot High School. He married Mildred Maedke at Kolberg Evangelical Lutheran Church Feb. 27, 1954. In August of the same year he entered military service and took his basic training at Fort Leonard Wood, Mo. He later served with the Sixth Armored Cavalry regiment with the U.S. Army in Germany for 18 months and was discharged as a specialist third class in August, 1956. The couple then took over the operation of his parents' farm, and for the past eight years he worked for William Van DeHey at Two Rivers. He was a member of the Rockwood church.
Surviving are his wife, two sons, Dennis and Mark, at home; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Emil Popelars, of Rt. 1, Whitelaw, a sister, Mrs. Jerome Holdorf, of Two Rivers and his maternal grandmother, Mrs. Anna Peroutka, of Rt. 1, Whitelaw.
Friends may call at Saur Funeral home, Kellnersville, until 11 a.m. Tuesday and after noon at the church.
