Norman D. Slipsager, 78, Kansas City, Kan., died Monday, August 4, 2014, at his home. Funeral service will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 14, at the Porter Funeral Home, 1835 Minnesota Ave., Kansas City, Kan., where friends may call from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Burial in Mt. Hope Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to Christ the King Catholic Church. Norman was born May 21, 1936, in Ft. Sill, Okla., and had lived in KCK for over 55 years. He was a proud graduate of the Washington High School Class of 1956 and enjoyed the class reunions over the years. He worked a variety of jobs from caddy at Victory Hills to doorman at the Kansas City Club. He is survived by cousins and many friends. Special thanks to Keith Gann, Lewis and Nancy Spangler, Doug, Mary, Lewis and MaryCate Spangler for their support of Norman over the years. He was special in many ways.
