Emma C. Brenneman, 88, of Carlisle, passed away Wednesday, May 9, 2007, surrounded by her loving family at the Carlisle Regional Medical Center.
She was born on Sunday, April 13, 1919, in Middlesex Township, Cumberland County, and was a daughter of the late Frank and Velva (Finkey) Eppley. Emma was the widow of Clarence L. Brenneman, who died March 22, 1986.
She was a devoted mother and homemaker who enjoyed vegetable gardening and working on her farmette.
Emma was preceded in death by five brothers, Tom, Oscar, Sylvester ("Bess"), Robert and Paul Eppley; and two sisters, Zelda Rhone and Ruth Thomas.
She is survived by her loving family which includes her son, C. Leroy Jr. (and his wife, Caryl) Brenneman of Carlisle; her three daughters, Betty A. (and her husband, Ray) Rutter, Sandra E. (and her husband, Barry) Price and Vickey L. (and her husband, Jeff) Babner, all of Carlisle; her sister, Virginia Buchter of Carlisle; 11 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, May 14, in the Ewing Brothers Funeral Home, 630 S. Hanover St., Carlisle, with the Rev. Joseph L. Kugle officiating. Burial will be in Westminster Memorial Gardens, Carlisle
