He was the husband of Lauren J. (Saunders) Harper for 26 years.
A 20-year resident of Bellingham, he was the son of Barbara (Bagster) Nickerson of Bellingham and the late Lindsay Harper. He was formerly of Holliston.
He was the owner and operator of Sparkle Clean for more than five years, and previously worked as a mechanic for Meineke of Milford.
Mr. Harper was a member of the Bethany Assembly of God Church of Mendon, and a past member of the Hopkinton Congregational Church. He was a member of the Model T Club and a collector of antiques, including old boats and cars. He enjoyed snowmobiling and boating, as well as four-wheeling with his family, and attended many car shows where he won several trophies.
Besides his wife and mother, he leaves two sons, Daniel B. Harper Jr. and his wife, Jessica, of Blackstone, and Matthew Harper of Bellingham; a daughter, Kimberly Harper of Bellingham; six brothers, Phil Harper of Northbridge, Jerry and Charlie Harper of New Hampshire, Joseph Harper of Uxbridge, Billy Harper of Holliston, and Bobby Harper of Milford and Florida; one grandchild, Gabriel Harper; and many cousins, including Billy Harper and Jerry Harper Jr.
A funeral service was set for Friday, Feb. 3, at Bethany Assembly of God Church, 15 Cape Road, Mendon, followed by burial in Lake Grove Cemetery in Holliston.
Arrangements were under the direction of Chesmore Funeral Home of Holliston, 854 Washington St., Rte. 126, Holliston.
