Mrs. Esther Catherine (Katie) Golenor, 80, died early Friday afternoon at her residence on the East Jackson Street Pike following a long illness.
Mrs. Golenor, the daughter of Christopher and Sarah Devilbiss Baum, was born near Ft. Jefferson, Ohio, but has lived in this community for many years. She was formerly employed at the Kirby Hotel, now known as the Huron, and resided there until about a month ago.
Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Retta Golenor and a son, Arthur Golenor, both of Delaware County, and a sister, Mrs. Opal Townsend of Greenville, Ohio.
Mrs. Golenor will be taken to Miller and Son Funeral Home of Greenville, Ohio for services, and burial will be held in the family lot there. Friends may call at the Meeks Mortuary from 9 a.m. until noon Saturday.
