Zilpha Thompson married John Windrow. A tenative date for his marriage is about 1806. They were the parents of five known children:
- John Byars "Bias"
- Travis E.W.
- Indiana
- Elvia Ann "Elvy"
- Sally Ann Windrow (1819-1849) m. Wayne Murphree/Murphy
Zilpha Windrow is found in the following US Federal census records:
- 1830 for Rutherford Co., Tn with 8 free whites and 8 slaves
- 1840 for Rutherford Co., Tn with 3 free whites and 9 slaves
- 1850 for Rutherford Co., Tn with her spouse and listed by her own name, Zilpha, her age is listed as 64 with her birthplace listed as North Carilona. This is one year before her death.
The book, "Rutherford County, Tennessee Cemetery Records," states, "This cemetery is across the road from Windrow Church. Many of the graves were marked with fieldstones and decaying boards. In the 1970's it was reported as being in very bad shape. There are over 100 unmarked graves." Since her husband, John Windrow, gave the property for the church, I believe both are buried here, but remains unproven.
