Accident Victim Services Are Set
Robert Turner Kostopoulos, 20, of 27071 Jerome St., Boron passed away in Kern General Hospital following a car accident Sunday night near his home town.
Born August 31, 1949 in California, he had lived most of his life in Boron with his family.
He had been a truck driver for U.S. Borax and Chemical Company.
Survivors are: Mr. and Mrs. Paul Kostopoulos, parents; three sisters, Kris, Becky and Sandy; one brother Paul Jay all of Boron and Mr. and Mrs. L.O. Mayes, grandparents of Bakersfield.
Services will be Thursday, (today) July 23 in First Baptist Church, Boron with Rev. Norvall Pickett, officiating.
Interment will be in Joshua Cemetery District, Lancaster with arrangements by Stickel Mortuary.

Four Killed in Head-on Crash Near Boron Sun.
It was 10:30 p.m. last Sunday, July 19 and what just moments before, was a car full of carefree youth became a mass of twisted steel when it collided head on with a truck-trailer 4 miles east of Boron.
Dead are Jerry D. Meadows, 21, Donald R. Moore 19, Bob Kostopolus 20, all of Boron and Debbie Lemons, 14, of Yermo.
Taken to Boron Hospital by Morris Ambulance were Lila Records, 15, and Phil Pack, 22 both passengers in the car driven by Meadows.
Barstow CHP officers said Robert L. McFarland, 28 and driver of the truck, Albuquerque N.M. was in serious condition in Kern General Hospital, Bakersfield. Relief driver, Harris Sanders 24 also of Albuquerque was doing OK.
The six young people were headed west on Hwy. 58 and the car suddenly swerved into the truck’s path. Both car and truck were totaled.
