Harland Bartholomew died, age 100, at Clayton, Mo. (suburb of St. Louis) Dec. 1989. He was widowed three times.

Mrs. Harland Bartholomew, Washington, D.C., the former Mrs. E. Arthur (Frances Louise Davies) Ball of Muncie, died Friday in a Baltimore hospital following a three-month illness. She was the wife of the president of Harland Bartholomew Associates, consulting engineers who made the Muncie and Delaware County planning survey several years ago. Mrs. Bartholomew moved from Muncie about 10 years ago.

Surviving in addition to the husband are two daughters, Mrs. William T. Foley, New York City, and Mrs. Wallace Friestedt, Severna Park, Md.; a son, George Alexander Ball, St. Thomas Virgin Islands, and a sister Mrs. Albert Schmedeman, Madison, Wis. A son, Arthur Brady Ball, died at the age of eight. Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. Monday in the New York Avenue Presbyterian Church, Washington, D.C. A second memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in First United Presbyterian Church, Muncie.

Memorial services for Mrs. Frances (Davies) Ball Bartholomew, 68, Washington, D.C., who died Friday in Union Memorial Hospital, Baltimore, Md., have been changed to 4 p.m. Tuesday in First Presbyterian Church in Muncie.

Mrs. Bartholomew, wife of Harland Bartholomew, nationally-known city planning consultant and civil engineer, was formerly married to Edmund A. Ball, son of Frank C. Ball, one of the founders of Ball Brothers Co. Mr. Ball Died in 1947.

The Bartholomews were married in 1955 in Washington, where he was serving as chairman of the Washington National Capital Planning Commission. Mrs. Bartholomew, daughter of Will Davies, is a cousin of Mrs. Barry Goldwater, Phoenix, Ariz., and several Muncie residents. Her husband, a son, two daughters and a sister survive. A native of Terre Haute, she was a member of the Friday Morning Music Club in Washington and the famed New York Avenue Presbyterian Church. Memorial services also are scheduled at 2 p.m. Sunday at the New York Avenue Presbyterian Church.
