Earl P. Lenzmeier, 84, died Friday at Ashwood Care Center, Willmar.

Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Monday at the St. Louis Catholic Church, Paynesville. The Rev. Richard Liesen will officiate. Burial will be at St. Margaret's Cemetery in Lake Henry.

Friends may call from 5 to 8:30 p.m. Sunday and 8 to 10 a.m. Monday at Johnson Funeral Home, Paynesville. St. Margaret's Rosary Society will pray 5:30 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home, followed by St. Joseph and the Foresters at 7:30 and parish prayers at 8.

Earl Peter Lenzmeier was born Aug. 18, 1912, in Roscoe, to Harry and Anna (Solheid) Lenzmeier. He married Veronica Spanier June 9, 1943, in St. Martin. He farmed near Lake Henry until he retired in 1978, and then moved to Paynesville. Veronica died Nov. 4, 1989. He married Rita Ludwig Gottwald on May 4, 1991, in Willmar. Following their marriage they lived in Willmar. He became a resident of the Ashwood Care Center in June 1994.

Survivors include his wife, Rita; stepchildren, Stella Nelson, Bemidji; Stephen Gottwald and Susan Buermann, Paynesville; Stanley Gottwald, New London; Samuel Gottwald, Willmar; Sara Forrest, Duluth; brother, Virgil, Lake Henry; sisters, Mary Ann Raiche, Maple Lake; Crescentia Kramer, Paynesville; Dorothy Ullrich, Lake Wales, Fla.; 12 step grandchildren and one step great-grandchild.

He was preceded in death by his parents; first wife, Veronica; son, John; daughter, Suzanne; infant brother, Walter; infant sister, Carol; and sisters, Lorraine Beckers and Luella Hess.
