She came to Utah with her family sometime before 1859. Her brother, Oliver Benjamin Kinney died in Mill Creek, Salt Lake Utah 20 Oct 1859.

In the US 1870 census for Bountiful, Davis, Utah Territory she is listed living with her parents at age 16.
1880 Us census Bountiful, Davis, Utah listed as Jane Rounds living next door to her parents (James and Clarissa Kinney). Listed living with her are children, Joseph Howard age 7, Clarissa Howard age 5, Villa Rounds age 3.
1900 US Census Uinta, Wyoming she is listed as Jane Rounds in the household of Daniel Nash, listed as a boarder home keeping. She has son James Rounds age 7 living with her.
She married Joseph Howard (1849-1930) 16 Oct 1871 in the Endowment House in Salt Lake City, Utah.
They lived in Bountiful where all four of their children were born. Joseph Samuel 28 May 1872 - 7 Dec 1933, Matilda Jane 15 Oct 1873 - 11 Mar 1874, Clarissa Ann 22 Jan 1875 - 9 Jun 1957, and Mary Eveline 22 Jan 1875 - 22 Jan 1875.
Joseph married a 2nd wife in polygamy in 1873. Eliza divorced Joseph in 1875.
Eliza married William Carmer Rounds 8 Mar 1877 in St George, Utah. They lived in Bountiful for a while then moved to Porterville, Morgan, Utah. Eliza lived on the road between Morgan and Porterville. They had six children, Arvilla, Arminta, Asa, Irene, Laura and James.
Eliza died 21 Nov 1902 in the Holy Cross Hospital in Salt Lake City, Utah and is buried in the Porterville Cemetery, Porterville, Morgan, Utah in an unmarked grave. Grave Location S/19
