Leon E. Simon, 54, of 1023 S. 25th St., Manitowoc, died unexpectedly Tuesday evening, February 17, at Holy Family Hospital, Manitowoc.

Funeral services will be 1:30 p.m. Friday at Pfeffer Funeral Home, Manitowoc. The Rev. Charles Mocco will officiate and burial will be in Knollwood Memorial Gardens, Town of Kossuth.

Mr. Simon was born July 26, 1926, at Erie, Pa., son of the late Thomas and Pauline Simon. He was a veteran, serving in the United States Navy during World War II and married Mary Ann Orth Feb. 27, 1954, at Manitowoc. Mr. Simon had been employed with Manitowoc Shipbuilding Inc.until April of 1980, when he retired due to illness. He was a member of Boilermakers Local 443 of Manitowoc.

Survivors include his wife, Mary Ann, two sons and a daughter-in-law, Spencer and Joyce Simon of Erie, Pa., and Morris Simon of Reedsville; a daughter and son-in-law, Cathy and Kenneth Tadych of Manitowoc; two brothers, Sam and John Simon and four sisters, Mrs. Peter (Nancy) Feldmann, Mr. Arthur (Dorothy) Neff, Mrs. Leroy (Betty) Weber and Mrs. Walter (Margaret) Sosinski all of Erie and three grandchildren, Timothy, Denise and Kim. A brother, Fred, and two sisters, Florence and Catherine preceded him in death.

Friends may call at Pfeffer Funeral Home 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. Thursday and Friday until the time of service.
