John R. Angell, 82, passed away Saturday, July 30, 2005.

A life long resident of Indianapolis, he graduated form Shortridge High School in 1941.

He joined the Indiana National Guard at 16. He was a Staff Sergeant in the U.S. Army Air Corps during W.W. II. He served overseas as a Radio Operator with the 442nd Troop Carrier Squadron. After returning stateside, he was a Lt. Colonel in the Indiana Civil Air Patrol.

He was a co-owner of A&B Typewriter Co., a family owned and operated office supply and typewriter repair business for over 50 years. He was a life member of the American Legion and he served on the Board of Directors of the WWII Round Table.

He is survived by his wife, Barbara A. Angell; his two daughters, Bonnie Angell-Lingle and Tammy L. Angell; six grandsons; and one great-grandson.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, August 3 in Flanner & Buchanan Funeral Center, Broadripple, with the service at 10 a.m. Thursday, August 4, 2005. Burial will be in Crown Hill Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association. www.flannerbuchanan.com
