Beatrice Clark Kamke Wellever, a resident of Rivers Bend Health and Rehabilitation Center, 960 S. Rapids Road, Manitowoc, entered eternal life Friday, March 16, 2007 at the care center.

Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 12 at Wesley United Methodist Church with the Rev. Janis Best officiating. Burial will have taken place at Knollwood Cemetery, Manitowoc.

Beatrice was born Feb. 13, 1912 in the town of Little Wolf, near Manawa. She was the daughter of the late Louis Harvey and Blanch May Rice, who both died while Beatrice was a child. After two years in an orphanage, Beatrice was adopted by DeVillier and Anna Husted Clark of Weyauwega. Beatrice was a graduate of Weyauwega High School. On April 23, 1933, she married Lester Lee Kamke in Weyauwega. He preceded her in death. She later married William Wellever in 1975 in Manitowoc. He also preceded her in death. She was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church for over 60 years. Beatrice belonged to the WSCS/UWM and the Mary Circle for many years. She was a dedicated cook and kitchen worker for the many church meals and fundraisers, and she could often be found washing or drying the last of the dirty dishes from a church supper. Following the loss of her first husband, Beatrice worked as a cleaning lady in a local nursinghome for several years.

Beatrice is survived by one son and daughter-in-law: Harold and Karen Kamke, Manitowoc and Mesa, Ariz.; one daughter and son-in-law: Linda and George Tanner, Montello; seven grandchildren: Linda Susan (Brian) Kinzel, Manitowoc; Kenneth Clark Kamke, Minot, N.D.; Dawn Marie (Guy) LeClair and Chad Edward Kamke, Manitowoc: Tammy Lynn (Philip) Dhein, Cleveland; Wendy Ann (Richard) O'Donnell, Chicago; Christopher George (Missy Briese) Tanner, Oshkosh; five great-grandchildren: Patti Endries, Minneapolis; Kristin and Ryan LeClair, Manitowoc; James and Joseph Dhien, Cleveland; along with other relatives and friends surviving. She was preceded in death by her parents, Louis Harvey and Blanch May Rice; husbands, Lester L. Kamke in 1969 and William Wellever in 1975; her eldest son, Lester Clark Kamke, February 2001; one brother, Harold Clark; one sister, Pansie Davis.

Relatives and friends may call at Wesley United Methodist Church on Saturday, May 12 from 10 a.m. until the time of the memorial services at 11 a.m.

The Harrigan Parkside Funeral Home and Cremation Center, North 11th and St. Clair streets, Manitowoc, is assisting the family with funeral arrangements.
